Transitioning Your Winter Wardrobe to Spring
Transitioning your wardrobe from winter time to spring time can be difficult. From casual to dressy, finding appropriate clothing to fit the ever changing weather patterns can be overwhelming. Having a go to guide to transform your bulky, three layer combo to colorful and springy is crucial. So here's my tips...
Tip #1. Pastels
- go with a different color pallete
- springtime is all about the pastels, so work with it!
- if it gets cold, throw on a jacket ... making sure it still keeps with a light and airy feel
Tip #2. Patterns
- patterns are good all year round but using playful prints like this bird one (hits on the pastels too) will help to transition a winter basic to a spring essential
- using a denim jacket or vest will add some depth and visual interest to the top part of your outfit
- hint: keep the top simple, since the skirt is screaming fun, leaving the top a little subtle will keep things light and manageable
Tip #3. Pop of Color
- don't be afraid of color, it adds interest and makes you stand out in a room
- playing with accessories is a great option (adding a scarf, denim jacket, even a chunky necklace will heat up things in a good way!)
All items of clothing have been purchased from the clearance rack or thrifted. If you would like for me to post where I've bought and for how much for, I would be more than happy to do so. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteNice post Bekka!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather! Glad you liked it!
ReplyDeleteLike outfit #3! Love the pastels with a jacket! Very cool! Do you have favorite thrifty shops that are your main go to that I could check out?
ReplyDeleteKatie! Glad you like the outfits :) Shop wise I'm really up for anything, I usually stick to the clearance rack though. Rue 21, Old Navy and Platos Closet are great stores to peruse. Salvation Army and Goodwill are also nice, just make sure you give yourself time to look!
